The Jaguar Car Club of WA held its annual 2011 Concours & Car Show at Houghtons Winery, Middle Swan on 9 November. The event was held in conjunction with the 175 years anniversary celebration for local winery, Houghtons, so this ensured at good crowd.
Location was pleasure, with plenty of facilities available and parking was breeze with the top paddock open and made available for car parking.
There was a good turn out of old and new Jaguars from XK’s to XJ’s and E types aplenty.
1971 Jaguar E Type Series 3 Open Two Seater. Features a 5.3 litre V12 SOHC engine developing 250BHP @ 6000rpm. 4 x 2inch SU’s, 4 speed gearbox, independent front & rear suspension. Maximum speed 145mph or 233kph. Only 1871 series 3 RHD roadsters were built. This one was manufactured on 1 Oct 1971 with chassis number 1S1085 painted in Regency Red with Cinnamon interior. The E type can accelerate from 0 to 145mph in one gear alone(4th gear).
